Middle Years Job Fair in Sindelfingen

Monday, May 8, 2017

The first ISS Sindelfingen Campus Job Fair on May 3rd was a resounding success. The Parents-As-Partners team prepared fantastic presentations for all the Middle Years students as well as leading mock-interviews for our 9th and 10th grade students. The whole Middle and High School was buzzing – students listening keenly to the parents, parents listening actively to the students, well-prepared questions and fascinating responses all round.

It is these kinds of events that we believe create a tighter relationship between our parent community and the school. Students gain self-esteem by relating their strengths to career opportunities and they gain knowledge about areas of expertise beyond those they cover in their classroom learning opportunities. Through listening to the parent career presentations, students recognise the relevance of their school learning in developing skills they will need in the workplace.

While parents have the opportunity to offer and share their expertise, they also gain by meeting the students and learning from them. The students came with well-prepared questions and interview responses.

Many thanks to all the staff and parents who participated to this event.
